Community Fridge Updates!
We are so overwhelmed and grateful for the support we've had regarding our new Community Fridge project. For those of you who did not see our facebook update we were able to place our fridge at Growing Hope's downtown Ypsilanti location on January 23rd. Unfortunately, after only a couple of days in its new home, our community fridge was rolled off by someone who we trust had an unmet need. Our partners at Growing Hope have security camera footage of the person who took the fridge, but we have agreed to keep that video private as to not cause public shame or harm to the individual. Fortunately, our support network showed up and provided! We are so blessed! We are regrouping to come up with a plan to ensure this does not happen again but still hope to have this facility up and running as soon as possible. Again, if you or an organization/congregation/group that you are affliated with would like to sponsor the fridge for a week to provide volunteers and food to stock the fridge, please reach out to our intern, Kimberly Sells at kim@fedupministries.org. |
