We are so excited to be continuing Mini Chef Camp in 2025 alongside the Community Family Life Center. We offer weekly MCC sessions to the kiddos who attend CFLC's after school program. This weekly camp is a great opportunity for children to build practical skills and engage with each other in a kitchen setting. Highlights include making waffles from scratch, making FedUp's signature Mushroom and Wild Rice Soup, touring and cooking on the food truck, and learning about important topics such as food access, nutrition, and food insecurity. We can't wait to bring this program to more families when we launch programming at the new HUB Center in Sugarbrook later this year!

We have two new MSW interns joining us from U-M this semester! You'll get to know them as they help out with our programs and events over the coming months. 

Hi everyone! I'm Alice (she/they), a currently MSW student at the University of Michigan, and I'm focusing on community change, program evaluation, and applied research. I grew up an hour or so north of Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, and I've had a passion for social justice, food security, and community education for about as long as I can remember. In my free time, I love gardening, hiking, birding, and any other ways to get outside. I'm excited to get to know you all over the next few months!

Sophie Bazzett (she/her) is a Management & Leadership MSW student at the University of Michigan who is so stoked to be joining the FedUp team! She's from Rochester, NY and her passion for fighting food insecurity was inspired by her volunteer work with Foodlink and internship coordinating the food distribution program at Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach.

Outside of work, Sophie loves all things creative— you can catch her writing, sketching, and rocking out wherever there’s live music.

As we continue into winter, we could always use an extra set of hands in the kitchen and our LiftUp services at HQ!
