Backyard BBQ Summer Fundraiser!
Speaking of Summer, we want to invite you all to our Backyard BBQ Summer Fundraiser! It will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on June 10th from 5pm-8pm. There will be live music, dancing, delicious drinks, yard games, and of course a variety of our signature FedUp dishes! This event will help us raise money for two new key positions at FedUp - our Mini Chef Camp Coordinator, and our Meal Program Coordinator. Both of these positions are crucial to the future growth of FedUp. We cannot wait to share with y'all about all of the growth so far and the exciting new things we have planned at this event! Help us continue changing lives, serving families and children across Washtenaw County, one meal at a time. You can RSVP and buy tickets using this link. Check out our facebook event as well for a sneak peek at the menu. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

WELCOME NEW STAFF!
Meet Tiffany! Tiffany Marshment (she/her/they) is currently working as the Digital Arts Creator at Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, MI. During her time at Zion, she has become a major part of daily life at FedUp Ministries, which led to her taking a Board Position in December of 2022. Prior to Zion, Tiffany worked for over 10 years in Leadership Programs, specifically as a District Training Manager for Journeys, where she was awarded Audit Excellence 5 times and multiple Sales Increase Awards. Tiffany worked as an Authorized Auditor, Training Manager, and Mental Health Resource Advocate in the Metro-Detroit Area during her time with Journeys while overseeing several locations. Prior to life in Retail, Tiffany was a marching member of prestigious groups such as Redline Percussion, Spirit of Atlanta Drum Corps, and Eastside Fury Percussion. Tiffany has also worked with several Music Programs in the state, including Motor City Percussion, Farmington United Percussion, Novi High School, and many others as a Cymbal Technician. When not working, creating or partnering with Pastor Anna on their next adventure, Tiffany is spending time with her daughter, Olive (4), Husband, Matthew, and their 2 silly dogs (plus a cat who tolerates them) in Southgate, MI. Tiffany is looking forward to transitioning into the Meal Program Coordinator position with a focus on continuing our growth while maintaining our values and standards. Meet Todd! Todd is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and decided to come work at FedUp because of how fun the team is. He is currently one of our kitchen staff members. He loves cooking in the kitchen, especially cooking the bacon! He enjoys working in God’s House, and doing this “beautiful thing for the community”. Meet Brandy! Brandy is originally from Iowa, and began volunteering with us way back in 2021 when FedUp was just a baby! She is now working part-time in as a kitchen staff member. She is excited about how much FedUp has grown and that she has been able to be part of it! She loves working with Pastor Anna and being part of the incredible outreach we’ve been able to have, but the kitchen really is her favorite place to be working. Brandy makes our made from scratch sauces, creates new recipes, and serves delicious food to our guests. In her free time she spends time with her family, and especially enjoys being with her grandkids! Meet Karl! Karl is from Ypsilanti, Michigan and heard about us from Delonis during our open interviews. He decided to join the team because he loves giving back to the community and loves working hard! He is our newest Kitchen staff member and already doing an amazing job. One fun fact about Karl is that he is working 4 jobs! He is a diligent and hard worker and an amazing addition to our FedUp team! For more infomation visit:

A Love Letter from Pastor AnnaHappy Pride, Y'all! Hello Beloved, It is Pride Month and I want to drop by with a little note to remind you that YOU are beloved, you are worthy, and you belong here. So often, we - those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community - have to separate our queer selves from our faith. When I found the Lutheran Church (which is not perfect by any means) that all changed for me. I found a faith tradition that embraced me and all of who I am, and it has been so freeing. If you are looking for a way to journey deeper into both your faith and your queer identity, send me a message and let's chat over a cup of coffee. Monique and I want to wish you all a Happy Pride, whether you're celebrating for yourself or you're celebrating along with us. Know that if you have ever questioned this truth, your queerness is divine. You are holy because you, humankind, are a creation of God, and God called Their creation good. Amen. |
