Join us in 2025 for a chance to rally support for programs that address food insecurity, empower individuals through employment and life skills, and provide essential hygiene resources to those experiencing poverty.
Do you ever long for the good ole days? You know, the days where your family (birth, chosen, or church fam) gathered around a potluck style meal in your auntie's backyard to play games and laugh until your bellies hurt? Checkered table cloths, decicious food, ice cold lemonade, good company, entertainment for days - those family barbecues shaped us into who we are.
FedUp's Annual Backyard Barbecue was born out of this taste for justice and longing for community care. Our fundraiser is relaxed and comfortable - no need to dress too fancy or bring a lot of money. Your presence helps us change lives. If you love building relationships around food and long for nostalgic family gatherings, our Backyard BBQ might just be calling to you.
Every gift given at our Backyard Barbecue helps us continue to build a world where every person we meet is nourished in mind, body, and spirit... just like those family backyard barbecues nourished us.
Last fall, members from 2|42 Community Church joined FedUp and our partners at Love Washtenaw as we prayed for our downtown Ypsilanti community. This year during Spring Break, FedUp was invited to bring our Mini Chef Camp programming to the children and families at 2|42 Community Church.
2|42 more than just a church—it's a a community hub that's open throughtout the week. They offer a grab-and-go cafe, indoor play area for kids, turf field, and reservable gathering spaces. Their campus actively engages in local outreach and partners with community-based organizations. We're honored to have 2|42 as a partner this year!
