Our Kitchen is Heating Up This WinterWe Need Your Help to Make More Meals! As we say goodbye to the changing leaves of Fall, we ask you to put on your oven mitts for the fast-approaching Winter season. Starting in November, FedUp is partnering with Washtenaw County including the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County and Alpha House to provide daily meals at emergency offsite shelters. Along with our regularily scheduled meals and catering, this is going to be our busiest Winter yet! We need your help to make this happen! If we sound like a fun volunteer opportunity, click our link below to sign up or stop by from 5-6pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Ypsilanti for a free meal to see and ask what our program is all about! FedUp plans to continue providing three free community meals throughout the week at local warming centers. A definitive schedule will be posted soon! It's a B-Day Celebration for Peace House!
This month we were thrilled to serve our fall soups at Peace House's 8th birthday party on Oct 3rd! Peace House is our long standing Catholic Worker home partner in the City of Ypsilanti. Community members who have been served by and support the work of Peace House gathered to celebrate another year of their work alongside one another, and fellowship over a shared meal. Over the years, FedUp has been blessed to celebrate at least five of these occasions with them! Thank you to Peace House and the community behind it for the bright impact you have on our neighbors.
